Dr. Krishna Kakani

Dr. Krishna Kakani is a Board-Certified OBGYN who has been serving the women and families of Huntsville, AL, and the surrounding communities for 37 years. Dr. Kakani graduated from Maris Stella College and Guntur Medical School in India in 1979. Shortly after, she moved to the United States and completed a rotating internship at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Birmingham, AL, followed by her OB/GYN residency at Savannah Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Prior to starting her Huntsville, AL, practice in 2016, Dr. Kakani worked with UAB School of Medicine and Tennessee Valley OB/GYN. Dr. Kakani recently retired from Obstetrics after delivering over 10,000 babies, but she continues to practice as a Gynecologist meeting the women’s health needs of her patients. Dr. Kakani strives to develop relationships with her patients and treating all with mutual respect and kindness.

Dr. Kakani is a fellow of ACOG/ABOG, a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and a member of the Madison County Medical Society. She loves serving her community and donates her time at the Huntsville Community Clinic as well as working with students and residents of UAB School of Medicine.

She and her husband have two children. When she is not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Kakani enjoying meditation, walking, gardening and cooking for her friends and family. She also serves as a Sunday school teacher at Bala Vihar. Dr. Kakani values the local communities, and she prioritizes donating to various non-profit organizations across North Alabama.

Dr. Minnetta Williams, DNP-FNP-BC

Dr. Minnetta Williams is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in nursing and advanced practice care. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Dr. Williams’ clinical expertise encompasses women’s health, primary care, preventive health, wellness, and chronic disease management. For the past 18 years, she has provided comprehensive women’s health and primary care services to military families.

Women’s health is a particular passion of Dr. Williams, with a special interest in Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Her Doctoral research focused on the development of a PCOS diagnostic screening tool, which has been presented in academic and professional settings and published in ProQuest.

She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, reflecting her commitment to scholarship, service, and community leadership.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Williams is a devoted wife, married to her high school sweetheart, and the proud mother of three children. She enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her children in their many activities and accomplishments.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and reading. She values family, balance, lifelong learning, and personal growth, bringing these same values to her approach to patient care.

From the Lowe Ave-Gallatin St intersection, drive north. At the “699 Gallatin St.” sign, turn right into the parking lot. Dr. Kakani’s office is in Suite B1 with the light blue door.
